reading well for mental health

The national Reading Well Books on Prescription scheme was launched in 2013 and a new collection of books was launched in 2018. GPs and health practitioners can prescribe a book to patients from a core list of books on common mental health conditions which can be borrowed from the public library. Any library member is free to browse and borrow from hte collection.

Our library also holds most of the titles from the core list which staff may wish to read and recommend to service users. Find more details about the scheme on the Suffolk Libraries website and Norfolk Libraries website.
